Showcase: 6-7 pm, open to the public
Where: Capital High School, 100 Valley Dr, Helena
Who: Montana youth singers age 14-21
Cost: $10 for students, Music Educators attend for free
What’s Included: Sheet music, a festival t-shirt, access to part specific learning tracks, lunch and dinner.
The Helena Xpress Singers and Last Chancers barbershop choruses are proud to sponsor this full day of youth musical education as part of our continuing Youth Outreach program.
We are bringing in two top notch clinicians from Portland and Seattle for this festival: Drew Osterhout and Rachel Pack.
The SSAA chorus will learn Lean on Me and the TTBB chorus will learn You’ve Got A Friend In Me. Both choruses will also learn Java Jive and Celebration that will be performed with the host choruses.
Music Educators who attend qualify to earn 8 hours of OPI renewal units for this day of music education. They will also be provided information on how to add the unique American art form of barbershop education to their curriculum, which includes access to free music.
